CURRENT POSITION IN THE 6-PHASE PROCESS
The Primary Renovations initiative of the SMART Program largely focuses on improving schools and the educational experience of students through structural upgrades to campuses and infrastructure. A six-step process is put in place to ensure that all renovations are completed effectively, moving through a thorough process that begins with Project Planning and ends with Construction Closeout.
Gulfstream Academy of Hallandale Beach K-8 was created by combining Hallandale Elementary School with Hallandale Adult and Community Center causing it to have two Primary Renovations projects that progress individually of each other.
The North Campus project at the school has moved through the first 3 phases of the process and is currently in Active Construction, with all planned enhancements being implemented in coordination with the school’s administration and scheduling. Once all renovations outlined by the project’s scope of work have been completed, the project will move forward to fulfill the necessary Closeout procedures before being marked officially complete.
The South Campus project has moved through the first 3 phases of this process and is currently in Hire Contractor. In this phase, the contractors bid on the work detailed by the design team and are chosen based on qualifications and cost. Once a contractor has been chosen and receives the necessary approvals, they will begin the process of mobilizing into Active Construction on campus.
