Summer Renovations Pave the Way for a Successful School Year
Summer Renovations: Preparing Our Schools for a Successful New Year
This summer, while students were away, our district undertook significant renovations and infrastructure upgrades to ensure schools were ready for the new academic year. In collaboration with the District’s Facilities teams, school administration, and contractors, we completed essential projects across multiple campuses.
Key Improvements
Nine schools, including Riverside Elementary and Silver Lakes Middle School, saw their media centers fully renovated with new flooring, furniture, shelving, and technology. McArthur High School and Sheridan Technical College also completed their media center upgrades, with Peters Elementary nearing completion.
Critical electrical upgrades were made at several schools, including new switchgear installations at Coral Springs High School and Miramar High School. Hallandale High School, Nova Dwight Eisenhower Elementary School, and Nob Hill Elementary School also received significant electrical enhancements in preparation for further upgrades.
Additional Enhancements
New marquee signs were installed at Park Trails Elementary School and Coconut Creek Elementary School. ADA-compliant parking spaces were constructed at Morrow Elementary and Parkway Elementary Schools, and playgrounds at Heron Heights Elementary School received new rubber surfaces.
We also installed ten electric bus charging stations at two facilities, supporting our growing fleet of electric vehicles and our commitment to sustainability.
These summer projects reflect our ongoing investment in safe, modern learning environments, ensuring our schools are well-prepared for the year ahead.
